How to Fix the Image Resizing Issue
Techy answer
FTP to the server and CHMOD domain.com/wp-content/uploads and all it’s child files and folders to 775, this will allow the TimThumb script access to the file.
Non-Techy answer
You will need to view the files within your website and change the permissions of some of them. Connecting to your website can be done using any File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client or program. I recommend, as do WordPress FileZIlla, which can be downloaded here – www.filezilla-project.org.
Please note that you will need to contact your hosting company to get details of your FTP connection if you do not have them.
Please follow FileZilla instructions on connecting to your web server.
Once you are connected, you should see something like this screen shot – click it to enlarge. Please bear in mind that this tutorial has been prepared on a mac, the screen shots may be slightly different on a PC.
You will see your website file structure on the right, double click ‘wp-content’, the file list will update to the contents of that folder.
One of the folders is called ‘uploads’, right click this folder and you will see this drop down menu, click ‘File permissions…’, you will get this popup window.

As you can see, there is a text box highlighted with ’755′ in it, change this to ’775′ and tick the box ‘Recurse into subdirectories’. Now click OK.
You should now have fixed the problem, you have changed the file permissions to CHMOD 775, giving TimThumb access to change your images.
