Using Gravity Forms to Create a Testimonial Area on your Site

Since no one had a problem for One Take Thursday, I thought I’d do something different and show another Gravity Forms tutorial. This time taking a look at using Gravity Forms with a plugin to create a testimonial area on your site. Of course this is just one way to put user generated content on your site. Headway Gallery, uses Gravity Forms to allow users to submit their Headway designed sites to the site. If you haven’t bought Gravity Forms yet, it’s only $39 bucks, so do yourself a favor and get the best form plugin out there. I promise you won’t be disappointed with your purchase!

This video runs just under 14 minutes. I tried to get it under 10, but there’s just too much awesomeness in it to make it any shorter! If you get stuck or need a bit of help, let me know in the comments!

Plugins Used: Gravity Forms (aff link), Custom Post Type UI, Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types

GREAT video tutorial, AJ - because of it, I purchased the single site license. I'll post the link to my community pet finder site once I get it set up with Headway 3.x and Gravity Forms. Keep up the GREAT work!

Can we add a field in gravity fields where they can click on how many stars they would rate it and keep track of the average star rating? Is there is different plugin for this? thanks for the video!

gymnasticsmom Yeah, I would think that would work, but I'm not sure. I've not done something like that, but it would likely require some CSS and PHP to get it working right. You might want to check the Gravity Forms support site, www.gravityhelp.com, and see if someone's tried that.

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded the "free" Gravity Forms leaf from the Headway Members Area Dashboard http://headwaythemes.com/members/member.php?r=4336... & installed it in wordpress. It's called Headway Leaf:Gravity Forms version 1.1 and is activated. However, there is no Forms Menu item. This is a separate download to the Headway software.

Is this not sufficient? Do I still need to purchase a Gravity Forms licence?

Thanks again for all your help. I'm sure to have more questions....

Pepper The free leaf is just a helper to place a form on a page. It still requires you to purchase Gravity Forms. You can get the $39/year option and still be good. But in order to do anything with this tutorial you need to get Gravity Forms.

Hi.

I enjoyed your tutorial on how to use gravity forms for a testimonial.

I purchased headway only today and am trying to install Gravity forms, & wonder if you can give me a pointer or two. I've activated Headway Leaf: Gravity Forms in the WP dashboard, but cannot see anywhere the control panel to configure the forms, nor can I see the Forms header in the menu I can see on your video.

Could you advise me at all?

Thanks. Bob.

Pepper Make sure that you've also purchased Gravity Forms and have that installed as well. It sounds like you might not have done that step. Gravity Forms is a separate download from Headway since it's a completely different product. :) You can purchase Gravity Forms from this link if you haven't already, http://headwayhub.com/go/gravityforms.
